Facing Penalties for Fraudulent ID Activity?

You need an Illinois Driver’s License Lawyer!

Driving is privilege, not a right, but mistakes can still happen. Your driver's license, issued by the Secretary of State, is an official credential that each driver is trusted with. When that trust is violated by a fraudulent action, then your driver's license is at risk of cancellation, suspension, or even revocation.

These penalties, however, do not have to be the final say on your status as a driver in Illinois. At Johnson Law Group, we know that even the smallest of mistakes can have serious effects on your driving status and that one's ability to legally drive is an integral part of their life. We have helped reinstate hundreds of driver's licenses, including those of individuals penalized for fraud activity. Contact us to speak with a knowledgeable Illinois driver's license lawyer today.

What qualifies as fraudulent activity?

As far as the Secretary of State is concerned, fraudulent activity occurs when you lend your provided driver's license to someone else. In other cases, when falsified information is used to obtain a license, or other items and services, it can be considered fraud.

Specifically, fraudulent driver's license activity can be:

  • Knowingly providing false information in order to be issued a driver's license
  • Loaning your driver's license to someone else
  • Using someone else's license, even if they have given permission
  • Getting someone else to apply for a license for you
  • The use of falsified or fake IDs

These actions can lead to a one year suspension, or, for subsequent offenses, complete license revocation. However, you may still have options. If you have lost your license due to fraud, then it may be possible to reapply for a restricted license, seek a hearing, or apply for temporary visitor driver's license.

Contact Johnson Law Group today and speak with an insightful Illinois driver's license attorney who is ready to discuss your case in a free consultation.
